Consider the following scenario:
Enrico is a single, middle-aged, obese Hispanic male with Type 2 Diabetes living in the inner city. He takes his prescribed medication inconsistently due to side effects. Fast food is his primary nutrition source, and exercise is non-existent. Esteban, Enrico’s son, also has Type 2 Diabetes. Although much more consistent than his father with medication, he also partakes in unhealthy foods. He attends school where he has gym class two (2) times per week, but other than that, he is sedentary as he loves video games.
Consider how the SEM might apply to Enrico and Esteban’s choices and behaviors.
